I agree Gary. It seems to me that the apparent rebadging of ILS to IPS doesn't change the objectives of the FELSA and LSA processes and that the 'old' ILS standards and consequent techniques are unchanged and continue to apply.
The transition occurring whilst the S-Series standards are becoming more prominent only seems to add to the confusion. It will be interesting to see what James V. Jones' take on the matter is at his webinar next week.
ILS/IPS/LSA/PSA: What's in a Name?

Jones - noted author of the McGraw-Hill SOLE Press titles Integrated Logistics Support Handbook and Supportability Engineering Handbook - will host a comprehensive presentation and discussion on "ILS? or IPS? Subject: ILS vs IPS and related Topics
There has been some robust discussion about this topic, in particular on LinkedIn. IPS is said to be the new generation of ILS or the changing of the guard, even on LinkedIn referred to as the Element in the Room. In reality very little difference between ILS and IPS, 10 ILS Elements to 12 IPS Elements, but the same objective, purpose, function. The two extra elements just place an emphasis on management requirements, that have always been there but brings a focus back to the key requirement, that is integration. Do you agree?
